2017 is nearly over, so it’s time to look back at what happened in Oregon athletics this year. Over the next few days, we’ll be taking a trip down memory lane, reliving some of the best moments from the year.
I wanted to start off with my favorite moment of the year with Oregon basketball advancing to this year’s Final Four.
The setting couldn’t have been more perfect. It may have been a “neutral” court, but 99% of the fans in the building were rooting for the Kansas Jayhawks, the last team left in Oregon’s path to the Final Four.
Jordan Bell delivered a masterful performance with 13 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and a school record eight blocked shots as the Ducks defeated Kansas decisively, 74-60. The Ducks shut down the Kansas offense, holding the Jayhawks to just 35 percent shooting from the floor. On the flip side, Oregon shot 50 percent, including 44 percent from deep.
Oregon’s season may have come to a halt against North Carolina in the Final Four, but before that, the Ducks provided us with a game we’ll never forget.
