EUGENE, Oregon — The No. 7 Oregon Ducks are set to complete their historic home season against Colorado on Saturday. 2016-17 has certainly been kind to the Webfoots, as UO is seeking a nation-best 42nd straight win from Matthew Knight Arena.
The Ducks have already reached new heights in program history. This season alone, Oregon has completed their seventh straight 20-win season. In fact, this was their seventh straight “winning season” for the first time in 77 years.
The Ducks have set the record with 177 wins over seven seasons. Not to mention, setting the program record with 156 victories over six seasons.
For Dana Altman, 2016-17 marks his 20th straight winning season as a head coach in college basketball.
The UO faithful has noticed the success of the program. Oregon has its highest attendance figures in 39 years. The Ducks are currently averaging 9,894 fans per game (17 home games). It is the most in the program since 9,984 per game turned out for the 1977-78 season.
In 2015-16, the Ducks maintained a perfect 18-0 record from MKA. With a win over Colorado, Oregon would eclipse a 17-0 mark this season.
More importantly, UO currently possesses the longest home win-streak in college basketball with 41 consecutive wins. Defeating the Buffs on Saturday would leave Oregon with the longest national win-streak heading into the 2017-18 season.
Senior Night (at noon) will honor four seniors on the Duck squad:
Good luck to the seniors on their future endeavors! All four look to continue their brand of Oregon winning at the next level of their individual lives.
