Oregon basketball gets new “Electric Green” uniforms

My eyes! The goggles do nothing!

Let’s play a little word association game. I say Oregon Ducks. What is the first word that comes to your mind? A popular answer would probably be uniforms. Oregon is known for their flashy uniform combinations, something that has spilled over onto the basketball court from time to time.

Now, it appears as if the Oregon basketball team is taking a much flashier approach with these new threads:

We’ve seen some of these elements before, including the wings on the shorts and the “Combat Duck” logo, but that green is really something else.

My first thoughts when I saw these were that they look like the awful Color Rush uniforms the Seattle Seahawks wore this season:

I have yet to see news if this is something Nike is doing with other teams that don the swoosh on their uniforms or when we’ll see it on the court, but it wouldn't be the first time we see a Nike school go for a brighter shade of green.

The jerseys are currently for sale at the Duck Store (but are already sold out) and retail for $120. According to the site, Nike is calling this color “Electric Green.”

What are your thoughts on the new jersey?
