Quick Glance
- No. 3 Oregon Ducks (29-5, 16-2 Pac-12) — UO is one of five teams in the field to have won a game in each of the past four NCAA Tournaments, alongside Gonzaga, Kansas, North Carolina and Wichita State… After earning a share of the Pac-12 regular season title, UO most recently fell to co-champ Arizona in the title game on Saturday, 83-80… The Ducks enter the tournament without senior Chris Boucher (11.8ppg, 6.1rpg, 2.5bpg), who tore his ACL in the Pac-12 Tournament semifinals against Cal.
"I think we can still do something special this year with the players we have,” said Jordan Bell, who has also been versatile with 10.7 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game.
- No. 16 Iona Gaels (22-12, 12-8 MAAC) — Iona is making its 11th appearance in the NCCA Tournament after most recently winning its 10th MAAC Championship on Monday. The third-seeded Gaels defeated the fourth-seeded Siena Saints 87-86 in overtime to earn their second straight berth to the Big Dance. Iona has yet to win in the NCAA Tournament after falling to No. 4 Iowa State in the first round last year, 94-81… The Gaels are led by Jordan Washington, who paces the team with 17.9 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. Rickey McGill has also been productive, averaging 10.8 points and 3.9 boards to go along with a team-leading 178 blocks and 62 steals.
"They shoot a lot of contested shots, tough shots, and hit a lot of threes," said UO guard Tyler Dorsey, who averages 13.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists. "It's dangerous, but we've been preparing all week for that."
