Brandon McCoy just announced on Twitter that will he attend the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Wow, we did NOT see this coming.
In the most shocking news of the recruiting season, arguably the best forward in the 2017 recruiting class is headed to the West Coast. Unfortunately for Duck fans, he will fall short of the Pacific Northwest in Eugene.
Blessd and truly thankful to say I've committed to UNLV !!! pic.twitter.com/w4aw8gFidU

Minutes earlier, McCoy posted on Twitter that he would announce on Tuesday evening. Moments later, he declared the Runnin’ Rebels as his college destination.
Anthony Smith’s commitment to UNLV lured McCoy to the Rebels. Smith is a diamond JuCo product with raw ability. He never played organized basketball in high school EXCEPT for AAU. His coach was McCoy’s guardian. It must be a fortunate coincidence.
Not only are Oregon fans hurt by this move, but Michigan State was counting on him for 2017. Arizona was also in the mix, but realistically it was unappealing for McCoy with the No. 1 overall prospect already committed to the Cats, DeAndre Ayton.
What doesn’t kill you, only makes you stronger right? Hopefully it helps with recruiting.
