Isaiah Hartenstein was selected by the Houston Rockets in the second round of the 2017 NBA Draft. His father, Flo, played for the Ducks from 1997-01.
Isaiah Hartenstein played professionally in Germany after being born in Oregon. He played for the World team at the Nike Hoops Summit, as well. He is a solid basketball player.
Ironically, he was selected with the No. 43 overall pick in the draft. Oregon’s Jordan Bell was selected at No. 38 spot overall. Tyler Dorsey was chosen 41st overall. Dillon Brooks was originally drafted after Hartenstein by the same team.
Being teammates was short-lived. Brooks was drafted by the Rockets at the No. 45 slot. However, Houston then shipped Brooks off to Memphis with the Grizzlies.
Flo Hartenstein moved his family to Germany in 2005 when he was signed to play professional basketball in Europe. Yet, he was unable to leave Germany for the draft because he is currently a coach there.
The second round was truly memorable for Oregon Ducks past and present.
