CAIRO, Egypt — Team USA and Payton Pritchard defeated Germany 81-59 in the quarterfinals of the U19 FIBA World Cup on Friday. Prior to their game, Abu Kigab led his Canadian teammates past France 73-67. Team USA will now face Team Canada on Saturday in the semifinal round.

Oregon’s incoming freshman has been on a torrid stretch during this tournament. He followed up his 17-point, 16-rebound performance with another masterpiece on Friday in the quarterfinals.

Kigab dropped 17 points, 15 boards and six dimes for Canada. He literally carried the team to their six-point victory and a Final Four appearance. Nobody can deny the evolution of his game this summer. Duck head coach Dana Altman can’t be mad with his development.

The match-up most wanted to see in North America is finally going to happen in Cairo on Saturday when Team USA will face Team Canada. The winner will advance to the 2017 U19 World Cup.
