Team USA’s Payton Pritchard and Canada’s Abu Kigab have been named to the 2017 FIBA U19 World Cup All-Star Team. Oregon basketball saw their representatives earn a gold and bronze medal from Egypt.

Pritchard and Team USA fell to the eventual champion Canada in the semifinal round. However, the point guard was fantastic for John Calipari’s group. He was able to lead his team to the bronze after losing their first U19 game since the 2011 World Cup.

Oregon’s guard tallied 12 points, six assists, three rebounds and a stolen pass vs Spain in the bronze medal game.

The West Linn product averaged 9.0 PPG, 3.1 APG, 2.9 RPG and 1.0 SPG for the tournament.

For Canada, it was their first basketball gold medal in history. Not to mention, it’s the first U19 World Cup for a Canadian side.

Kigab helped lead the charge, averaging a double-double for the World Cup. The former Prolific Prep star amassed 14.7 PPG, 10.6 RPG and 2.3 APG. He registered a double-double in four of his seven games played.

He finished with 12 points, 10 rebounds, two assists and a stolen pass vs Italy in the gold medal game on Sunday.

If this winning is a sign of things to come, Duck fans are in for another exciting winter.

NBA Summer League action from Las Vegas still to come today! Tyler Dorsey and Dillon Brooks are in action on Sunday.
