Oregon football is just four days away from kicking off the 2017 season vs Southern Utah at Autzen Stadium.
If you’ve been following us on Instagram @eugene_levys_eyebrows, then you’ve been counting down the Duck players of past and present this summer.
We started at No. 99 with Canton Kaumatule and it’s almost hard to believe we’re four days away from opening day.
Let’s take a look at four interesting facts about Oregon’s No. 4 Erick Dargan:
- After recording just 15 total tackles during his true freshman campaign, Dargan incredibly snagged five interceptions and 54 tackles (33 solos) during his sophomore season. He’s one of the best safeties in Pac-12 history, in my opinion
- During his senior year, Dargan led the conference with seven interceptions in 2014. He recorded a multiple-interception game vs Wyoming. Dargan was a monster that year, amassing nearly 100 tackles with his team-high 95 on the season. The Californian added 61 solo tackles and 34 assists to conclude a fantastic defensive career at Oregon. Voted Most Outstanding Player on defense by his teammates
- Dargan forced 4 career fumbles during his 4-year Oregon showcase. He returned one punt in college for 4 yards during the ‘14 season. Following his incredible Duck journey, Dargan signed with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2015
- Dargan recorded 4 tackles or more in 12 of his final 15 Oregon games during the 2014 campaign. On 4 separate occasions during his senior year, Dargan amassed 10 tackles or more
Wednesday we will feature the No. 3 of Oregon legends. Keep calm, the Ducks are just four days away from a new beginning.
