Class of 2018 5-star forward prospect Louis King has committed to Oregon via his Twitter account on Thursday. This major event comes two days before the No. 1 player in the 2018 class, R.J. Barrett, visits Eugene.

Moments ago, King posted this tweet on his account:

This is one of the most monumental signings in Oregon basketball history. Not only have the Ducks already signed No. 57 ranked Miles Norris for the 2018 season, but now the heralded King is jumping aboard.

King is listed at 6-foot-6 and the No. 21 overall player in the 2018 class according to ESPN rankings. Additionally, the 5-star small forward is the No. 6 player at his position according to ESPN.

According to 247sports, King is the No. 2 player from the state of New Jersey and fifth-best small forward at his position.

The Hudson Catholic product narrowed his list to a Top 5 last week. King listed Kansas, North Carolina State, Purdue and Seton Hall as possible destinations alongside Oregon.

This is one of the biggest commitments in Oregon history. This week could “potentially” be the most important in Duck basketball recruiting history.

We will have plenty of details and in-depth analysis from this move in the next few days. Following the King celebration, Oregon and head coach Dana Altman will shift focus to the No. 1 prospect from the 2018 class as R.J. Barrett is set to visit Eugene on Saturday.
