Oregon women were lead in scoring by freshman Satou Sabally with 21 as they beat OSU in the second installment of the Civil War this year. The win avenges an OT loss on Friday and, oh yea, 13 other games before that. The win keeps Oregon at first place in the conference standings.

Oregon men also finished their week with a split after (barely) holding on to beat UCLA by 3. Oregon gave back almost all of an 18 point lead in the second half as UCLA got hot from distance, but managed to close out with clutch free throw shooting.

Oregon hired Jim Mastro from WSU as the new running backs coach. Mastro has had backs gain 1,000 yards rushing and receiving in each of the past two seasons. Mastro was also the coach at Nevada when they produced 3, 1,000 yard rushers in the same season.

Oregon is expected to make former Uw linebacker Cort Dennison it’s new linebacker coach. The hire would reduce the Oregon coaching vacancies to one. Dennison was most recently linebackers coach and recruiting coordinator for Louisville.

Women’s tennis picked up a win over the weekend at San Diego 6-1. Tennis will be in California for it’s next two matches as well, playing Rice and either Pepperdine or Maryland.
