Oregon’s star left tackle left last Saturday’s game against Washington twice due to a high ankle injury. The freshman was put back in on what would become pivotal plays for the Ducks’ win, but ultimately the effort cost Sewell six weeks of playing time, according to Oregon’s medical staff.
Cristobal spoke this morning with the media, saying “Penei is a relentless competitor and I have no doubt he’ll return better than ever.”
The Utah native started his first six games at left tackle and has become one of Oregon’s most talked about players. He’s rated the number six left tackle in the country according to Pro Football Focus. His dominating presence on the line will be missed, but hopefully the freshman phenom can return for a bowl game.
Go Ducks! We wish you the best, Penei!
