The Three Most Important Things Oregon Needs to do to Fend Away the Cougs Aerial Offense

Three Most Important Things No. 12 Oregon Needs to do to Win Against No. 25 Washington State in Pullman

1) Let CJ Verdell Watch LaMichael James or Kenjon Barner Film

Let Verdell learn how to run and bounce outside. Don’t need 300 run plays designed up the middle. Install something outside, or at least outside the tackle. Put in something like a triple-option, where you have a Y-back (like, Brenden Schooler or Jacob Breeland) underneath and Verdell overtop and let Justin Herbert read and run or read and toss to either athlete.

2) Oregon Can’t Beat Oregon

Turnovers, overturned calls, and glitches in the offense have been Oregon’s kryptonite. The Pylon Play, the turnover with the ball on the two yard line, and CJ Verdell’s fumble last second against Stanford ruined the game for the Ducks. Oregon just simply can’t beat Oregon.

3) Super Soft Cover Four Issue

The Ducks defense needs to step up big time against the Cougars aerial attack offense. It has the athletes and potential, but playing cover four and cover three super soft is an issue. Once, I saw them play at 15 yards off. I would play cover three/four at 8-10, and have your corners as a pass first defender, and safeties as a run first defender.
