ATQ’s Week Twelve Predictions

New, 20 comments

Help the Ducks earn big bucks!

Last week, the ATQ community was 62% right in the pick ems and 42% right against the spread. Let’s give it another go, shall we? Because Mariotasmustache is a little short on rent this month, and SB Nation says I can’t crash on the couch in the break room anymore.

#19 UTAH @ COLORADO

TIME/CHANNEL: 10:30 AM, PAC-12 NETWORKS

RECORDS: UTAH (7-3, 5-3) / COLORADO (5-5, 2-5)

LAST WEEK: After beating the hell out of the Ducks in Salt Lake City, the Utah Utes are now their biggest fans as an ASU loss and a Utah win against Colorado will give the Utes their first ever PAC-12 South title. Meanwhile, the Buffs have dropped five straight after winning their first five. Word is that Coach MacIntyre will be out of a job at the end of the season- that’s what a loss to the Beavs will do to ya, just ask Helfrich.

Will the Utes once again win behind a backup quarterback and running back? Or will the Buffs earn bowl eligibility?

USC @ UCLA

UCLA v USC Photo by Harry How/Getty Images

TIME/CHANNEL: 12:30 PM, FOX

RECORDS: USC (5-5, 4-4) / UCLA (2-8, 2-5)

LAST WEEK: The Trojans are coming off a hysterical loss to the Golden Bears in which they blew a 14-0 halftime lead by failing to score for the remainder of the game, ultimately losing 15-14. California won in large part due to their talented and disciplined defense, something that UCLA does not possess. Still, Chip Kelly’s squad has shown flashes of offensive competence and should come out fired up against a vulnerable USC.

Will the Trojans earn bowl eligibility over the rebuilding Bruins? Or will Chip Kelly find a way to steal a win at his new home?

OREGON STATE @ #18 WASHINGTON

Oregon State v Washington State Photo by William Mancebo/Getty Images

TIME/CHANNEL: 1:30 PM, PAC-12 NETWORK

RECORDS: OREGON STATE (2-8, 1-6) / WASHINGTON (7-3, 5-2)

LAST WEEK: Oregon State is not good, but sometimes they’re kinda good on offense. Washington is pretty good, but sometimes has trouble on offense even against teams that they should blowout. Also, Ted Bundy was a husky.

Do the Beavers have another upset in them (please don’t be against the Ducks)? Or will Jake Browning and company remain in the race for a PAC-12 North title?

STANFORD @ CALIFORNIA

TIME/CHANNEL: 4:30 PM, PAC-12 NETWORK

RECORDS: STANFORD (6-4, 4-3) / CALIFORNIA (6-4, 3-4)

LAST WEEK: Big Game may actually be cancelled due to the fires in California, but should a game take place this Saturday between the Cardinal and the Golden Bears, we could be in for a highly entertaining matchup.

Despite having locked down a bowl game, Stanford must be disappointed with the result of the season. California, on the other hand, couldn’t be happier having just earned their first bowl game under Justin Wilcox by snapping USC’s 13-game win streak over the Golden Bears. They may not have an elite offense, but their defense was more than competitive against some of the best teams in the PAC.

Will Stanford continue their eight-game win streak over California? Or will the Golden Bears finally get their ivy-league-esque monkey off their back?

ASU @ OREGON

TIME/CHANNEL: 7:30 PM, PAC-12 NETWORK

RECORDS: ASU (6-4, 4-3) / OREGON (6-4, 3-4)

LAST WEEK: The Sun Devils are 6-4, but they just may be the best team in the PAC-12. After battling the pesky Bruins by a measly three points, Herm Edwards can win the South Division in his first season as head coach. What a crazy time to be alive.

And as far as the Ducks are concerned... don’t make me relive last week.

Will the Ducks once again turn into a competent team at home? Or will the combination of Eno Benjamin and N’Keal Harry be too much for a struggling Duck defense?

ARIZONA @ #8 WASHINGTON STATE

NCAA Football: Washington State at Arizona Casey Sapio-USA TODAY Sports

TIME/CHANNEL: 7:30 PM, ESPN

RECORDS: ARIZONA (5-5, 4-3) / WASHINGTON STATE (9-1, 6-1)

LAST WEEK: Washington State is the PAC-12’s only hope when it comes to the playoffs, and even they are a long shot. The Cougs have been one of the biggest surprises in the country, and a win over Arizona and Washington would give Wazzu their most wins in a season in school history. Don’t look past the Wildcats though. Khalil Tate and JJ Taylor have found their groove and could be a lethal duo against Mike Leach in Pullman.

Will the Cougs be 10-1 going into the Apple Cup? Or will Arizona earn a bowl by punching the PAC right in the face?
