The Oregon Ducks if it were a High School Student

Oregon, safe to say, hasn’t had the best of seasons this season so far. Still bowl eligible, but still. A question that lingers above my head is : "will Oregon win out this season?" This has a simple answer: hopefully, but more than likely not.

"Oh, you’re not a true duck fan blah blah blah…" is exactly what my dad would tell me if I were to argue with him about this. But, lemme explain. Oregon has shown that they can beat anyone, but lose to anyone. They won against San Jose St narrowly, home against then No. 7 Washington in overtime. They also lost to a then No. 25 Washington St which is now in the CFP top ten, and lost in not-so-good fashion to Arizona.

From my observations, the last 4 games have defined the season to me, really. 1-3 in the past four, beating a very much struggling Chip Kelly lead UCLA squad, with loses to a very well put together Wazzu team led my early Heisman trophy winner Gardner Minshew II, a 5-5 Arizona led by the Khalil Tate, and Utah led by the refs.

On a letter grading system, I would give Oregon an overall C at best. With the ugly wins, pretty losses, ugly losses and pretty wins, Oregon’s season has been average, to say the least.

Their offense I would give a B+. With the Pylon Play, what followed that, and the many of times we ran it up the middle (Thanks, Arroyo), it’s almost great, but not there yet.

The defense (Oh gee, their defense) I’d give a solid D-. It’s not good, but not horrendous. There’s time where it’s really bad, but they can also step up big time when Herbert and crew are struggling.
