Men’s basketball opened with an exhibition against Division II Western Oregon University and won 77-58. Western Oregon was scrappy and disciplined but undermanned against a sloppy but far more talented Oregon team.

Brady Breeze got a chance to play some outside linebacker in the Arizona game due to injuries and a suspension at linebacker. Breeze had not played at his natural position, safety, since the Portland State game.

Sabrina Ionescu has been named a preseason All American. Ionescu was a unanimous All American last year as well as Pac 12 player of the year.
