The Oregon Ducks (16-8, 6-5) host the Washington State Cougars (9-14, 1-10) this evening at Matthew Knight Arena. Tipoff begins at 5:00 p.m. PST with a telecast on ESPNU.
Oregon is coming off an impressive 65-40 victory over Washington. Troy Brown scored 21 points while Kenny Wooten threw a block party with seven blocks. Wooten also chipped in 12 points.
Former Oregon head coach, Ernie Kent, makes another return to Eugene. The Cougars are coming off a 94-62 loss against the Beavers in Corvallis.
Washington's 40 points were the fewest allowed by Oregon since moving into Matthew Knight Arena.
Oregon's identity as a team is unclear. The Ducks can have gutsy performances (ASU and Arizona) but have let down efforts (USC and Stanford). As of now, Oregon is on the outside looking in for the NCAA Tournament.
A sweep of the Washington schools can help build momentum as Oregon will be on the road against the Los Angeles schools.
The game thread is now open. Please be respectful.
Go Ducks!
