The second draft eligible Duck has been drafted!

The Ducks stud left tackle Tyrell Crosby has been drafted by the Detroit Lions

Crosby joins an impressive draft class that includes Arkansas C Frank Ragnow, RB Kerryon Johnson, and Alabama DL Da’Shawn Hand.

The Lions are loaded with intriguing talent at offensive line. With Taylor Decker in the fold at left tackle, it is expected that Crosby will man the right side or switch to guard.

Here are some opinions on expressing disbelief why Crosby wasn’t drafted on Day 2

Former Duck Geoff Schwartz is shocked

My thoughts on Crosby as a prospect:

TC is one of the bigger tackles in the entire class who can move a little quicker than some have initially projected. His main strength is that he is so physical with the defender and won’t quit blocking his assignment. Since he is a bigger body, he has a wide base from which to anchor from. By that, I mean the ability to hunker down in a protection set is key to winning leverage. Upper body strength is a major plus. His weakest point is that he is slower to get set as a pass blocker than some would like.

Crosby does the little things right fundamentally. He’s more laterally athletic than given credit for although I’ve noticed that he has some difficulty in recovering once he’s beaten. The backpedal in pass pro is not the best but its serviceable. For OL, the 40 serves some purpose as the 10 yard splits can accurately measure explosion off the ball. He placed in the top 10 in his position at the Combine. Another positive is that he has experience at both tackle spots.

Tyrell has some thoughts!

PFF has some great praise for Mr. Crosby
