In a day the women could have used a positive surprise or two they received no surprises, positive or negative. The Ducks are still in contention to win a repeat national title, but have ground to make up on the favorites.

Day one of the women’s events was highlighted by an NCAA championships meet record at 10,000 by Sharon Lokedi of Kansas in a race where the top six finishers broke the previous meet record.

Oregon’s game against PSU this year was named as the most shameful game of the year by Athlon sports.
