Although we are only a few days away from Duck football kicking off, Cristobal and staff are still hard at work building the class of 2019. Joe Salave’a is surely salivating at the thought of his incoming talent, a group that now includes 3* weak-side defensive end Treven Ma’ae.
At 6’4, 240 pounds, Ma’ae will need to gain some muscle and prove his ability to get after the quarterback if he wants to remain on the d-line. A switch to outside linebacker could be in the cards for Ma’ae, however, his size is reminiscent of the great Jalen Jelks- who also committed to the ducks as a 3*.
Ma’ae hails from Bishop Gorman high school, a team that has won nine consecutive state titles. He is the 54th best player at his position and the third best prospect out of Arizona.
Oregon now has 21 commits for 2019, which puts them at No. 4 nationally, according to 247’s composite rankings. The Ducks’ steady stream of talent has maintained their current ranking behind National Champion Alabama, National Runner-up Georgia, and the cowards at Texas A&M.
As of right now, the Ducks are dominating the rest of the PAC-12 in recruiting. Only five PAC-12 teams are in 247’s top 50 recruiting classes of 2019: No. 22 USC, No. 26 Washington, No. 33 Colorado, No. 38 Stanford, and No. 42 California.
