New Oregon cross country coach Ben Thomas is adjusting to life in Eugene. Thomas took over this summer and inherited a talented but inexperienced roster with the top returning runner sophomore Cooper Teare. The men open up their season this weekend in Eugene.

Jim Leavitt says that the next thing he’s looking for from his defense is a more complete game effort. The Bowling Green game had some good elements such as turnovers forced and a safety, but also some deficiencies, mostly on the first two Bowling Green drives.

Oregon’s offense talks about capitalizing on big play opportunities. The game against Bowling Green saw missed opportunities that got second chances, but the team knows that second chances won’t come as often against Pac 12 competition.
