Baseball has begun practice for the coming spring. The Ducks will open their season with four games at Texas Tech, a unanimous top ten pre season team, on February fifth. Oregon returns two strong pitchers from last year and is hoping to turn around the recent trend of middle of the pack performance.

Pitcher Ryne Nelson has been named third team All American in the preseason in a vote by MLB scouting directors. Nelson and Kenyon Yovan are expected to lead the Duck’s pitching rotation.

Men’s basketball continues their season this weekend with a trip to the mountain schools. Oregon first plays Utah on Thursday, followed by a trip to Colorado. Oregon is 3-4 in conference on the year.
