Softball added an elite player to the team with freshman Tera McGowan. McGowan spent the fall at Arizona State and was ranked as high as 20th nationally as a high school recruit.

Jessica Hull, the defending NCAA champion at 1,500 meters, was named to the preseason watch list for the Bowerman Award. Hull was third this year at the NCAA Cross Country championships and ran on the Oregon NCAA Championship winning distance medley relay for indoor track this year.
