The men’s cross country team jumped in the national rankings, from 11th to 7th, in the wake of their victory at the Bill Dellinger invitational. The women’s team fell in the rankings, from 9th to 13th.

The men’s tennis team is opening their season this weekend with four players at the ITA All-American tournament which runs from October 5th - 13th. All four players are entered in the singles tournament, with two players also playing on a doubles team together.

The Daily Emerald talks about the Oregon run game and the efforts to improve in the bye week. The first test to see if Oregon is able to improve comes against a strong Cal defense with linebacker Even Weaver who leads the nation in tackles.
