Head Coach Mario Cristobal held his weekly press conference with the media earlier this afternoon and he had some injury updates plus some news regarding the team.
Gus Cumberlander will miss the remainder of the season due to the injury he suffered Saturday, @coach_cristobal said. CJ Verdell and Daewood Davis should be OK this. #GoDucks

Some unfortunate news that we were dreading when the initial injury happened. Gus Cumberlander has likely ended his Ducks career on a sour note as he was injured pretty severely in the game against Cal. He suffered what looked like a non-contact knee injury in the second half and had to be carted off in an air cast. He is a redshirt senior so the redshirt cannot be utilized unless it is a medical one and an appeal is filed with the NCAA for a sixth year of eligibility.
He was well on his way in terms of having an outstanding senior season and earning some praise from the draft community. For his career, he has totaled 23 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, and 6.5 sacks.
As a recruit, he was ranked as a three star defensive end from Cedar Grove HS in the state of Georgia per 247 Sports.
As a result of GC’s injury, true freshman and PAC-12 DL of the Week Kayvon Thibodeaux has been listed as the starter on the Ducks’ released depth chart.
RB C.J. Verdell and WR Daewood Davis are on track to return for Friday night’s game against Colorado after exiting last weekend with injuries.
Mario Cristobal says JJ Tucker is no longer with the team.

As heavily speculated with the arrival of former USC wide receiver Devon Williams via transfer, redshirt freshman receiver J.J. Tucker has elected to leave the team without a clear destination as of press time per Mario Cristobal.
We wish both of these gentlemen the best of luck in their careers going forward. Please come back healthy, Gus!
