Smith is a 6’4 280 three star defensive tackle / defensive end (according to his Hudl profile) from Hertford County HS in Ahoskie, North Carolina.
According to 247Sports, he is ranked as the 64th best defensive tackle, 20th overall prospect in the state of North Carolina, and 709th overall nationally.
He officially visited for the most recent game against Arizona this past weekend.
247 lists no official primary nor secondary recruiter for Smith but one would imagine Coach Joe Salave’a was involved as his future position coach.
The Ducks rank as the 15th overall class nationally and the second best in the Pac-12 according to 247Sports Composite. Smith joins Maceal Afaese as the other defensive tackle in the 2020 class.
The Ducks are still in the hunt for several five and four stars so it remains to be seen how they close the 2020 class.
