The good folks at Pro Football Focus has some extremely high praise for sophomore left tackle Penei Sewell as referenced below
Penei Sewell is on a historic pace this season.

If the season ended today, he would be the highest-graded offensive tackle EVER in the PFF College era (2014 - present). pic.twitter.com/OFZpQzbGUg
PFF has been really effusive in their praise of Penei Sewell, going as far to say that he had the highest graded freshman tackle season ever on top of being the highest offensive grade this season.
As you can see, they have him allowing just six total pressures on the season so far and 0 sacks allowed along with a 94.7 run blocking grade. He tops the list full of first round draft picks and All-Pro caliber offensive linemen such as La’el Collins, Jack Conklin, Ryan Ramczyk, Cody Whitehair, and Forrest Lamp. Beating out this year’s OT1 Andrew Thomas isn’t bad, either.
Sewell has a bright NFL future ahead of him as the potential 2020 OT1 on many boards next season. He could be a top five selection in the 2021 NFL Draft should he choose to declare as a junior (he very likely will given the contract that comes with such an honor and would be smart to do so.) He could be in the conversation for being the best player overall in next year’s draft class.
It’s quite a remarkable career he’s had to date anchoring one of the best offensive lines in college football. That’s an offensive line full of draft picks like Calvin Throckmorton, Shane Lemieux, and Jake Hanson. Could he be the next great #ProDucks lineman like Gary Zimmerman?
He should be an Outland Trophy finalist if not the winner this season.
Keep up the great work, Penei!
