1. How are Beaver fans feeling about Jonathan Smith in year two?

Pretty dam good. The fact that this team is still looking at bowl potential says a lot of how far they have come the past 2 years. Sometimes his in game decisions can be frustrating but overall he has been a great hire for this program.

2. Oregon State has some fantastic skill players, who do you believe is the true MVP on offense and who are the runner-ups?

I gotta go Isaiah Hodgins, with a close runner up of Jake Luton. Hodgins has been out of this world good this year while Luton has been extremely solid at a position that has been unstable for the Beavs since Sean Mannion was around.

3. Do you believe this defense will be good next year? Who are some young defensive players we should know about for future Civil wars?

I do. There is a ton of youth on the defensive side of the ball, especially in the linebacking core. If Addison Gumbs can return healthy next year the Beavs will have at least 6 linebackers that could be starters. Add in the fact that the D line will be adding a bunch of JUCO and transfer portal talent and the front 7 could be scary for teams to line up against. My only concern will be the defensive backfield aside from David Morris.

4. Whats is your favorite and least favorite Civil War memory?

They actually come in consecutive years. My favorite would be 07. I was a student athletic trainer on the team. We hadn’t won in Autzen in forever and we came in and one in overtime with that sweet fly sweep action from James Rodgers.

08 was the worst. We were favored. We win and were going to the Rose Bowl and Oregon comes in and whoops us in Reser. That was the beginning of a pretty dark run of civil wars(which hasn’t really ended aside from 2016).

5. Prediction

Both teams play hard. I think the Beavs keep it close before the Ducks pull away in theaters 3rd quarter. 49-35
