Quack Fix 11-5-19: Basketball Opener

Oregon v Virginia

Oregonlive looks at the men’s basketball team with key questions, returners, and newcomers. The Ducks return just three players from last years Pac 12 tournament title team and will feature a roster that lacks big men, at least to start the season, but also add significant shooting talent.

Some of the above questions may be answered with the debut of the men’s basketball team, tonight, against Fresno State. Dana Altman could break his tie with Ernie Kent for most wins in program history tonight and win the teams 22nd straight season opener.

Women’s golf is in Hawaii and senior Amy Matsuoka is tied for the tournament lead after the opening round with the best round of her career. The women are in third overall after one round.

The Daily Emerald writes that the women’s basketball team will rely on improved depth this year as they chase a national title. Depth was the primary weakness from last years team as all five starters averaged over 28 minutes a game.
