Jim Leavitt will not be Oregon’s defensive coordinator going forward. The Register Guard is making it sound like he was removed from his duties. Oregon is expected to promote safeties coach Keith Heyward to defensive coordinator and Oregon will search for a new linebackers coach.

It’s Civil War week for women’s basketball. Oregon faces the 9th ranked Beavers on Friday in Eugene before heading up to Corvallis for round two of the Civil war. Oregon is 1-7 against Oregon State in the Civil war under Kelly Graves, with the first win coming last year.

Men’s basketball is trying to improve future strength of schedule by adding power five games in Eugene. Coach Altman says his goal is to schedule 4 games each year with home and home agreements, and have two road power five games along two home power five games every season.
