Butterfield is the second ranked pro style quarterback in the 2020 class. He’s a four star 6’6 206 QB from Liberty High School near Brentwood, CA.
247 Sports has him ranked as the 13th ranked overall prospect in the state of California, 78th nationally, and second pro style QB behind five star Clemson commitment D.J. Uiaglelei.
He previously visited Oregon in the spring. It appears that he was the primary QB target after DJU gave indications that he was a Clemson lean and eventual commit.
247 Sports listed Ducks offensive coordinator Marcus Arroyo as his primary recruiter.
He will not be early enrolling but will instead enroll for the summer in 2020, according to 247.
Butterfield is a top 100 prospect in both Rivals and 247.
Oregon currently ranks first in the Pac-12 and 12th overall nationally for the 2020 recruiting cycle.
