Cody Shear was a last minute signee for the 2017 class after being an Arizona commitment for a lengthy period of time during that cycle.
He was a three star offensive guard from the state of Oregon. Shear went to the same high school as the Herbert brothers at Sheldon High School.
Shear leaves the program after an injury filled Ducks career that saw him not play at all during the 2018 season.
Mr. Shear is the third Duck to leave the program after the spring game. He joins LB Keith Simms and S Billy Gibson. QB Braxton Burmeister previously transferred to Virginia Tech. According to 247 Sports, the Ducks have 87 scholarships, which is two over the mandated 85 limit as set forth by the NCAA.
Good luck in your next destination, Cody!
