Afaese is a 6'5 260 defensive end recruit from Kapolei High School in Hawai’i.
He committed this afternoon after an unofficial visit last week. Afaese previously visited Colorado last weekend. He was high school teammates with 2019 Oregon defensive end signee Treven Ma’ae before Ma’ae transferred to national high school power Bishop Gorman.
Afaese decided to commit on his grandmother's birthday.
247Sports ranks him as the 30th ranked strongside defensive end, sixth overall prospect from the state of Hawai’i, and 605th overall.
247 also lists Defensive Line Coach Joe Salave’a as his primary recruiter.
Oregon still holds the top ranked class in the conference while moving up to 11th overall nationally according to 247 Sports’ rankings.
