Harper is a 6’4 290 three star offensive guard from the state of Illinois. He transferred to Chicago’s Simeon Academy for his upcoming senior season. Simeon is better known to the world as a school that produced elite basketball stars such as Derrick Rose, Jabari Parker, Benji Wilson, and Nick Anderson. He also plays basketball so Coach Altman may have an eye on him for reinforcements in 2020.
Harper was previously scheduled to commit later this afternoon but moved it up ahead of schedule.
247 has him ranked as the ninth best recruit from the state of Illinois, 45th guard, and 749th overall nationally.
He visited the Ducks on June 11th after receiving an offer in February.
OL Coach Alex Mirabal is listed as his primary recruiter.
With his commitment, Oregon builds its lead in the Pac-12 recruiting rankings and remains eleventh overall nationally.
