SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH - The #4 Oregon Ducks (12-3, 1-1) bounced back after a loss to Colorado by defeating the Utah Utes (10-4, 1-1) by a score of 69 to 64.
Despite a bloody nose, Payton Pritchard scored a team-high 19 points and passed Ron Lee in career assists.

1st Half - Payton Pritchard scored the first bucket of the game after a Chris Duarte defensive rebound led to a layup off the fastbreak. Then, after Timmy Allen responded with a score of his own, Pritchard drained a triple that reclaimed the early lead. N’Faly Dante hit a jumper that gave the Ducks a seven-point lead, but some strong Utah defense and a couple of triples led to a 17-17 score at the 7:21 mark. Utah took their first lead of the half with a Both Gach three-pointer, but Will Richardson and Chris Duarte helped Oregon build a 36-31 lead at the half.
2nd Half - The Utes scored seven straight points to kickoff the second half, but a triple by Shakur Juiston gave the Ducks the lead and with 10:14 left in the game a Will Richardson three-pointer put Oregon up by 10, their largest lead of the night. However, the determined home team scored 12 consecutive points to take a 58-56 lead. The Ducks outscored the Utes 13 to 6 in the final seven minutes of the game despite Pritchard leaving and then re-entering the game late after colliding with Timmy Allen, resulting in a bloody nose. Oregon’s five-point win could have been much more lopsided if not for some sloppy play late in the game (as well as a lopsided ratio in penalties called for the home team), but Altman was ultimately happy with the team’s resolve.
The Ducks will take on Arizona this Thursday at 6 PM in their first PAC-12 game at home this season.
