Another baller for Altman!

Dana Altman’s Ducks added a new member of the flock with the verbal commitment of Johnathan Lawson.

Lawson is 6-foot-6, 170 and played at Wooddale High School in Memphis, Tennessee. He chose the Ducks over Vanderbilt, Alabama, Arkansas and Iowa State. According to the 247 composite, Lawson is the No. 126 player, and ESPN lists him as the second best player out of Tennessee and the 10th best player at his position.

In high school, Lawson averaged 26.1 points, 12.3 rebounds and 6.2 assists per game. He should provide coach Altman a sure-shot as he averaged 74 percent from the charity stripe, 64 percent from the field and 48 percent from the three.

The three-star small forward joins five-star center Nathan Bittle in the 2021 class, which is off to a promising start with these two ESPN top-50 players. Lawson will follow in his older brother’s footsteps, Chandler Lawson, and may even get to play with him considering Chandler is only a sophomore. Their older brothers, Dedric and K.J., were also successful college basketball players.

Welcome to the Flock, Johnny Law!
