Payton Pritchard drafted 26th Overall by Boston Celtics

Congrats Payton!

NCAA Basketball: Stanford at Oregon Soobum Im-USA TODAY Sports

Payton Pritchard got to hear his name called in the NBA Draft tonight, as the Boston Celtics made him the 26th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.

The West Linn, OR native heads to Boston after a very successful college career in Eugene, finishing as the Ducks career leader in assists and winning the Pac-12 Player of the Year award as a senior. He lead the Ducks to a 24-7 (13-5 conference) record and were looking to repeat as Pac-12 Tournament Champs before Covid-19 forced the NCAA to cancel all postseason tournaments.

With a successful college career now behind him, Pritchard looks to make an impact at the next level, joining a very talented Boston Celtics team. Playing with stars like Kemba Walker, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, Pritchard has a chance to carve out a role on a contending team due to his shooting and passing ability.

No matter where he goes in his professional journey, Payton will always be a Duck and we couldn’t be prouder. Good luck Payton, Ducks Nation will always be rooting for you!

‘Sco Ducks!
