EUGENE, OREGON - The #3 Oregon Ducks (22-2, 11-1) exacted their revenge against the #19 Arizona State Sun Devils (16-8, 6-6) by defeating them at Matt Knight, 79 to 48.

1ST HALF: The Ducks missed their first five shots of the game, but thanks to some tenacious D they were also able to hold the Sun Devils scoreless, as well, for over four minutes. Eboni Walker hit a jumper to end the scoring drought at the 5:46 mark then moments later Satou Sabally tallied Oregon’s first points off a layup. Sabally’s shot was the beginning of a 10-0 run that ended the first quarter. ASU was held to just two points in the opening quarter, the lowest point total in a quarter from an Oregon opponent all season. The physical play between these two battling teams resulted in three technical fouls, including one on Coach Graves and a baffling one on Sabrina Ionescu which left the superstar asking, “what did I say?”

The second quarter expanded the Ducks’ run to 15-0 with a Jaz Shelley triple and a Taylor Chavez fastbreak layup thanks to a steal and assist by Shelley. Sara Bejedi hit a triple that brought the lead back to under double digits with 2:38 left in the quarter, but Erin Boley scored five of her 14 points in the final minutes of the first half to give the Ducks a 27-15 lead.

2ND HALF: Oregon’s 27-point half was its lowest scoring half of the season, but they still managed to enter the third quarter with a 12-point advantage which helped set up an offensive onslaught in the second half. Ruthy Hebard scored nine points in the third while Sabrina Ionescu and Erin Boley recorded six apiece in the quarter. Freshman Jaz Shelley (who finished a perfect 4-of-4 from three-point land) ended the frame with a triple that bounced in off the backboard and put the Ducks up 57 to 30.

The last time these two teams met, the Ducks dropped a 10-point lead in the fourth when they struggled to score in the final minutes, missing all four of their shots from three-point range. But in front of a sellout crowd Oregon avenged their lone PAC-12 loss by connecting on five triples in the final quarter, winning their third consecutive top 20 match-up by over 18 points. The Ducks had five players score in double digits, outrebounded the Sun Devils 32 to 25, and forced 18 turnovers to seal the 79-48 victory.

The Ducks continue their stretch of ranked opponents when they travel to Los Angeles to take on the #10 UCLA Bruins (21-2, 10-2) for the top spot in the PAC-12 standings.
