Bruce Feldman of The Athletic previously reported that Bouknight would be parting ways with the University of Oregon earlier this afternoon.

This is an interesting timeline as rumblings of a departure began yesterday afternoon when former Oregon QB Akili Smith and others associated with the program tweeted goodbye to Coach Bouknight. One has to wonder if the former Ducks coach had a job lined up prior to his departure or it was a Coach Cristobal effort to land Bouknight a “promotion” instead of outright firing him.
What’s interesting from the Oregon perspective is that this weekend is expected to be huge recruiting visit weekend. They are now down a coach in that regard.
Coach Bouknight tangibly improved the receivers during his short stay in Eugene. The drops dramatically decreased under his watch.
We wish him well as he moves forward in his career in Lexington.
Stay tuned to ATQ for updates! We will have a WR coach hot board this weekend.
