PAC-12 football is likely on its way and the steady stream of high-quality commits keep coming. Daymon David, the four-star safety out of Maryland, committed to the Ducks on Friday.

247Sports and Rivals both bumped him up to a four-star after further evaluation, and David is now listed as the country’s No. 12 safety, the No. 12 prospect out of Maryland and the No. 195 overall prospect, according to the 247 composite.

The defensive back out of Franklin High School in Reisterstown, Maryland currently measures at 6-foot-1, 178 pounds. David chose the Ducks over Arkansas, Miami (Florida), Michigan State, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, and other programs who have recently become aware of the fast-rising prospect.

Many Duck fans who follow recruiting closely hope that the commitment of David helps earn the trust of fellow Maryland standout Dont’e Thornton, the nation’s No. 6 wide receiver in the 247 composite. The Ducks currently have the No. 3 recruiting class of 2021 and the top class in the conference.
