Penei Sewell, Jevon Holland, Brady Breeze, Thomas Graham Jr., Deommodore Lenoir, Austin Faoliu, Hunter Kampmoyer, Nick Pickett and Jordon Scott are all hoping to get their names called after the traditional booing of Roger Goodell.
Join ATQ as we overreact to every pick and non-pick, and pray that the Chargers somehow land Penei Sewell to protect our precious QB1. We’ll keep this thread going over the next couple of days to make sure every Duck gets their due.
GO DUCKS! GET THEM BIG BUCKS!
Penei Sewell to The Detroit Lions
1st Round, 7th Overall
Congrats, Penei! It’s a very high bar to reach, but Sewell could retire as the most successful Duck lineman in history. Of course players like Gary Zimmerman, Haloti Ngata, and DeForest Buckner may have something to say about that, but there is no limit to what this young man can achieve. Go Ducks!
Jevon Holland to The Miami Dolphins
2nd Round, 36th Overall
Oregon’s star defensive back — the man who led the team in interceptions during his freshman and sophomore season — is the first safety picked in the 2021 NFL Draft. Selected 36th overall by the Miami Dolphins, Jevon Holland was the first safety off the board. Perhaps Holland could have gone even sooner had he stayed for his junior season, but it appears he’s made the right decision for himself and his family. Way to go, Holland!
Deommodore Lenoir to The San Francisco 49ers
Round 5, Pick 172
Lenoir decided to stick around for his senior season and it turned out to be a good decision as he led the Ducks to another PAC-12 Championship and was picked in round 5 by the 49ers. A three-year starter, Lenoir helped turn around a unit that was much maligned. Now, he’s making the big bucks! Go Ducks!
Brady Breeze to The Tennessee Titans
Round 6, Pick 215
Brady Breeze decided to strike while the iron was hot by opting out of the 2020 season and testing his chances in the NFL draft. And with the 215th overall pick by the Titans, it appears that was a wise decision. Breeze had a legendary two-game stretch in which he came up big against Utah in the PAC-12 Championship game and then dominated Wisconsin in Oregon’s Rose Bowl victory. Congratulations, Breeze! You did Lake Oswego proud!
Thomas Graham Jr. to The Chicago Bears
Round 6, Pick 228
Who knows where the program would be without Thomas Graham Jr. During the Taggart era, Thomas Graham Jr. started as a freshman corner and never looked back. He’s already covered NFL talent in the PAC-12 and now the Bears will find out just how hardworking this young man is. Thanks for fixing our once-horrendous secondary, TGJ. You’re worth every penny and more!
