Well here we are. One year and three months into the pandemic, still disagreeing about when and where to wear masks, how many people we can safely be around, and worrying about whether we will ever reach herd immunity with all the vaccine skeptics still sitting on the fence waiting for who-knows-what to get them to change their minds. It's all really exhausting, disappointing, and maddening how irrational some people are. I think it is time to start offering vaccination incentives to get more shots in arms: free pint at participating breweries, gift certificates to local stores, stuff like that. If there is one thing I learned in my lifetime, people like free stuff and if it entices more of them to participate then I'm all for it.
