(3 plays, 75 yards, 1:02)

  • On Arizona’s first play from scrimmage, quarterback Jordan McCloud threw across his body and was picked off by safety Bennett Williams.
  • The Ducks kept their next drive alive - after a false start penalty on second down led to a third-and-9 - with a scramble from Anthony Brown that gained 19 yards and a first down.
  • Brown’s run got the Ducks to the Wildcat 5-yard line, however, two runs and an incomplete pass failed to get Oregon in the end zone, resulting in a 21-yard field goal from Camden Lewis.

Ducks 10 - Wildcats 0

(7 plays, 22 yards, 2:56)

  • Drake Anderson carried the ball on four consecutive plays and picked up a total of 20 yards to jump-start the Wildcat’s next drive.
  • McCloud then found Stevie Rocker Jr. for an 18 yard reception.
  • Stanley Berryhill III earned another first down for the Wildcats with a 7-yard run on second-and-5.
  • McCloud kept the ball and picked up 16 yards with his legs to reach the Oregon red zone.
  • A false start had the Wildcats at second-and-goal at the Oregon 11, but McCloud took advantage of the opportunity by connecting with Bryce Wolma for an 11-yard touchdown.

(10 plays, 91 yards, 4:36)

2ND QUARTER NOTES

  • The second quarter began the same way the first quarter ended: a 5-yard carry from Wiley. This one good for a first down.
  • After a 1-yard loss on a sweep from Berryhill, McCloud threw to the end zone and was picked off by Mykael Wright, who made a very athletic catch and foot plant to stay inbounds.
  • Dye ripped off another big run two plays into Oregon’s next drive, a 30-yard run to reach the Arizona 43.
  • A pass interference called on an Arizona defender defending Johnson III gave Oregon 15 yards on an incomplete pass.
  • Brown Jr. connected with Johnson III on third-and-8 for a 14-yard gain.
  • Then, on 3rd-and-7 at the Arizona 9-yard line, Brown Jr. threw a TD pass to tight end Terrance Ferguson.

Ducks 24 - Wildcats 7

(8 plays, 80 yards, 3:41)

  • Boobie Curry saved Arizona’s proceeding drive with a 14-yard reception on third-and-13.
  • Berryhill added to Curry’s success with a 14-yard catch of his own.
  • A 10-yard run from McCloud set up a fourth-and-2 at the Oregon 47, then McCloud hit Berryhill in stride for a 35-yard gain.
  • The Wildcats reached the Oregon 12, but failed to pick up a first down or reach the end zone. Lucas Havrisik made the 28-yard field goal to make it a two-score game.

Ducks 24 - Wildcats 10

(12 plays, 70 yards, 5:35)

  • Brown Jr. was sacked by Kenny Herbert for a 3-yard loss on second down, then nearly threw a pick on third down on an attempted pass to Ferguson.
  • The Ducks went three-and-out and were forced to kick the first punt of the contest.
  • Passes of 11 and 7 yards to BJ Casteel and Jalen John gave the Wildcats some early momentum on their next drive.
  • But the Wildcats were unable to continue the drive and were forced to punt after a run for a loss, an incomplete pass, and a delay of game killed any potential momentum.
  • Despite clearly being a little banged up, Brown Jr. returned to the field and threw an incompletion on first down.
  • A false start set up a third-and-12 for the Ducks, which Brown converted on with a 29-yard pass to Kris Hutson. Unfortunately, Hutson was called for an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, which put them back to the Wildcat 37.
  • Brown Jr. threw two deep incompletions to end the half.
