With conference tournament season upon us and the NCAA Tournament on the horizon, our friends at Bovada have released an interesting set of national championship odds for those that are into that sort of thing.
The Oregon Ducks are up to No. 5 in the AP Poll after securing a second-straight Pac-12 regular season title and the odds show the betting public appears to like the Ducks a good bit too.
Bovada has Oregon at 12/1 to win the national title, up slightly from 14/1 last week. That puts the Ducks in a tie with Kentucky for seventh-best odds nationally behind North Carolina (6/1), UCLA (6/1), Kansas (13/2), Gonzaga (9/1), Villanova (10/1) and Duke (11/1).
The odds fall pretty steeply from there. Arizona is 18/1 and USC is 200/1. If you’re looking for a super long-shot you can get Cal at 500/1.
The Ducks are the favorite to win the Pac-12 Tournament at 7/5, followed closely by UCLA at 8/5. Arizona is 15/4 and Cal is 10/1. At the bottom of the odds board is lowly Washington (100/1) and Oregon State (250/1).
Oregon’s national title odds could again improve should they edge their way into a No. 1 seed.
The Pac-12 Tournament begins on Wednesday in Las Vegas. Oregon will play Thursday at Noon PT, facing the winner of Wednesday’s Arizona State/Stanford game. If they win that game, they'll face either Cal, Oregon State or Utah in the semifinals.
And if they win that, they'll likely face either UCLA or Arizona in the finals. A tournament win over UCLA in the finals could propel the Ducks into a top seed.
