The month of April is coming to an end, and so is Oregon's spring practices. The Ducks are entering their final week of spring drills which will lead to Saturday's annual spring game at Autzen Stadium. On Friday, the two teams were split in a "draft," with one squad being selected by Marcus Mariota and Hroniss Grasu, while the other was picked by Ifo Ekpre-Olomu and Tony Washington.

Rather than just boring old colors, the team names were a fusion of names. The Mariota/Grasu squad will be known as "Mariasu," while the Ekpre-Olomu/Washington squad will go by, "Twifo." Helfrich added that he thought "Mariasu" sounds like Eugene's hottest new Asian fusion restaurant.

Here are the full results of the "draft," courtesy of GoDucks.com:

Couldn't help but notice that Bralon Addison, who tore his ACL earlier this month, is on the Twifo roster. I have a hunch he won't be able to provide much production to that team on Saturday.

The two teams also went through the usual pre game notions of selecting whether to kick or receive, which side to defend, etc. Twifo selected the north sideline (Oregon's normal sideline), while Mariasu will receive to start the game. Twifo also had first selection at the two uniform options. Only two uniform options? What is this, USC?

The format of the game should be as real as possible, complete with kickoffs and punts. A running clock is expected to be used in the second half. Helfrich said it will be a recognizable football game with everything being run as close to normal as possible, including scoring. We've seen some teams get creative with scoring systems in spring games, but it looks for now as if Helfrich wants to keep this as realistic as possible.

The annual spring game is schedule for Saturday at Autzen Stadium, with kickoff set for 11 a.m. PT, making for an early morning for tailgaters. Please notify us which spot has the free mimosas.
