Another Oregon Ducks player has been named to a preseason award watch list.
Wide receiver Charles Nelson is one of 43 candidates for the Paul Hornung Award, given to the sport’s most versatile player.
The Louisville Sports Commission presents the award, which was won by Stanford’s Christian McCaffrey last season. The Pac-12 has eight players on the watch list, the most of any conference.
Nelson has been quite versatile the past two seasons, playing receiver, running back, safety and special teams. He finished with 1,266 all-purpose yards in 2015, and this year the team plans to use him primarily as a receiver.
The Hornung Award winner will be presented the award at a banquet in Louisville next February.
