WATCH: David Yost Talks Transition from Teaching Kindergarten to Quarterbacks

“There are some similarities. You raise your voice to get your point across.”

One of the more interesting new faces on the Oregon Ducks coaching staff this season is quarterbacks coach David Yost.

The man with the hair came over from Washington State, and before that was a long-time Missouri assistant. But his very first job out of college was a little different — substitute kindergarten teacher. Yost majored in early elementary education during college and could have embarked on a teaching career, but instead he gave coaching a shot.

Safe to say coaching worked out pretty well. Yost talks about the transition and his coaching career in a Pac-12 Network interview, which you can watch above.
