New Oregon Ducks quarterback and high-profile transfer Dakota Prukop was asked an interesting question on Monday: Can he play as physical at Oregon as he did in the FCS with Montana State?
In the above Oregonian video, he gives a pretty straight answer.
"No, I don’t," he says. "That wouldn’t be smart."
The rest of the answer is a pretty interesting look at why a quarterback shouldn’t always sacrifice his body to get extra yards.
"If you choose to put your head down to try and run two safeties over just to get a first down — realistically it’s probably going to be third and one, we’ll give the ball to Royce and he’ll get the first down."
Smart.
