Quack Fix: Ducks have most balanced practice of fall camp.

Your daily dose of Oregon Ducks news.

Scott Olmos-USA TODAY Sports

  • The Ducks had such a good day on Monday, that head coach Mark Helfrich told the team it was the best practice of preseason cam so far. Helfrich noted that it was very even throughout the day. Highlights from the practice include long touchdown drives by both Vernon Adams and Jeff Lockie and a solid run by freshman RB Tony Brooks-James
  • With much of the 2014 team graduated or moved on,the Ducks need valuable leadership and experience on offense, and WR Dwayne Stanford returns to lead what may be the best wide receiving unit in program history.
  • In the recruiting world, CB Nigel Knott, ESPN's No. 39 overall player, is showing a solid amount of interest in the Ducks, and he'll announce his decision after the Ducks take on Georgia State on September 19th. Knott also has interest from various SEC schools Alabama, LSU, Texas A&M, Ole Miss and even conference rival USC.
  • The QB battle is squarely down to Vernon Adams and Jeff Lockie, and so far, Lockie has clearly shown his experience and knowledge of the system over Adams. It should surprise no one that Lockie has the edge in this regard, even with Adams' dynamic style of play at QB. After all, Adams has only been with the team since August 14th.
