In addition to crushing FCS foe South Dakota, Oregon received great news on Saturday when wide receiver/running back Malik Lovette committed to the Ducks. The news was first leaked by Lovette's high school coach via twitter:

Lovette was rumored to be heading to Oregon for some time and gave his verbal commitment to the Ducks while on an official visit over the weekend. The 4-star recruit is rated as the #5 all purpose back and #175 player overall according to the 247sports composite ranking. He plays both receiver and running back at Redlands Valley High School and could fill a role similar to that of Josh Huff in the Oregon offense. Last season Lovette finished with 45 carries for 445 yards and caught 47 passes for 770 yards, with 16 total touchdowns.

Lovette is 5'11, 187 lbs, and ran a 4.43 40-yard dash at the Nike Sparq training camp. In an interview with the days before his visit to Eugene, Lovette talked about his goals for the upcoming season:

"Individually, I want to become a leader to the team," Lovette said. "I was to show everyone I can lead by example. And the goal is get that CIF ring on our finger."

Lovette is Oregon's 13th known commitment and brings Oregon's class ranking up to #18 in the country according to 247sports. You can watch his HUDL highlight video below.
